Massage Therapy

Massage is not a luxury it is a necessity. For all the daily life activities that aid stress and strain on the body massage is a wonderful noninvasive way to address and release the tension and injury before they manifest into greater obstacles. Massage therapy addresses the muscles, tissues, and lymphatic system of the body directly creating immediate relief.

Muscles consist of bundles of muscle fibers encased in a web of collagen called “fascia.” Fascia runs through and around every muscle in your body and acts as the “glue” that holds your muscle tissue together. Tension occurs in these layers and even trigger points that can create debilitating pains. Listed below are the modalities I specialize in and mix and match during every massage to address your specific needs.

Swedish Massage is a whole-body therapeutic massage treatment that works the soft tissues and muscles to help restore health – creating a calming and balancing effect on the nervous system.

Deep Tissue Massage targets areas of tension or tightness by applying concentrated pressure to the sub-layer of muscles and fascia, the connective tissue surrounding your muscles.

Trigger Point Massage targets the trigger point directly. A trigger point is a small, tight area in muscle fibers and fascia, which restricts blood flow to the area and causes pain. Pinpoint pressure is applied to release the fibers and fascia.

Myofascial Release applies sustained pressure on targeted areas of connective tissue (fascia) that surround your muscles and bones, like the trigger point but in a broader area. This pressure is meant to release the restriction in the connective tissue so that you have a greater range of motion and less pain.

With Sports Massage, I address injury with a combination of pressure and movement using a technique called pin & stretch. These techniques call to be used on injuries from sport, life activity, pregnancy, and childbirth.

Pre & Post Natal Massage caters to the many growing pains of pregnancy. Prenatal massage helps guide the muscles to a state of release, creating space for mommy and baby to find comfort in the body. Post Natal massage is a self-discovery journey to the changes to your body. This message addresses and releases tension and injury sustained during pregnancy that may have been previously out of reach, but it also addresses pain and injuries from labor and the change in life activities due to the beautiful new addition.
